I think to cap it off, he should trade Kei Igawa for a left fielder. That would be an impressive feat, even for Bronny "Snake Eyes" Cash.Fernando Alejandrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11051242696406856273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-315155203706829641.post-4132803911968356202010-01-19T04:08:53.592-08:002010-01-19T04:08:53.592-08:00Yeah, it looks like Pena will be the utility infie...Yeah, it looks like Pena will be the utility infielder, unless some other candidate emerges during spring training, but that seems unlikely.

It'll be interesting to see how the Sox treat Papelbon. Obviously, he's had success, but he was not as automatic last year, not to mention what happened in the play-offs. Most elite closers don't have a long shelf life, unless their names are Mo or Hoffman. The Red Sox are not a sentimental bunch, and it would be interesting to see what happens if Papelbon has his decline before he ever even reaches free agency. Ouch.Roberto E. I'm just hoping the arbitration meetings between Papelbon and the Sox lead to some kind of horrible and hilarious fallout between them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-315155203706829641.post-65035860842075331732010-01-18T13:55:50.400-08:002010-01-18T13:55:50.400-08:00The offseason wasn't always boring. Cashman just made all his moves so early that there's nothing important left for him to do.

It really is impressive how fast he moved:

1. Traded for Granderson
2. Traded for Vazquez (plus Logan as a lefty backup to Marte)
3. Re-signed Pettitte
4. Almost traded Igawa
5. Set the U.S. record high score in Lode Runner (he does not only play Tetris)

And it's only mid-January!Rich Mahoganyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17078545531672950308noreply@blogger.com
