I am extremely lucky that he managed my favorite team - that's all.

:(lady gaganonymoushttp://twitter.com/rebexaramanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-315155203706829641.post-73189885318565487222010-07-13T12:41:05.516-07:002010-07-13T12:41:05.516-07:00Well it helped a lot of franchises pocket the payr...Well it helped a lot of franchises pocket the payroll money. I'm looking at you Pittsburgh! But I agree that it was good for baseball overall.

But yeah, he put way more money into the team then most owners ever would. He treated it like a business, which it is, but a lot of owners treat their teams like a hobby. He was a great owner because he was the teams biggest fan! He approached building the team the way a fan would build their own fantasy team. Well at least a fantasy team with seemingly unlimited resources.Fernando Alejandrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11051242696406856273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-315155203706829641.post-55878529726660359942010-07-13T11:34:16.156-07:002010-07-13T11:34:16.156-07:00He wasn't just great for the Yankees, but for ...He wasn't just great for the Yankees, but for baseball. You could never get that sense from George. He gave the team everything he had. Take the best elements of the way George ran the Yankees, and you have a template for how to run a baseball team.Rich Mahoganynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-315155203706829641.post-48825143908530148262010-07-13T10:38:50.223-07:002010-07-13T10:38:50.223-07:00Honestly, we were lucky to have an owner like him....Honestly, we were lucky to have an owner like him.Fernando Alejandrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11051242696406856273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-315155203706829641.post-50588492395452211872010-07-13T09:31:35.499-07:002010-07-13T09:31:35.499-07:00RIP George Steinbrenner.
