Was that not the purpose of the backup in the first place?Fernando Alejandrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11051242696406856273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-315155203706829641.post-73501926131488069642012-12-10T07:04:33.368-08:002012-12-10T07:04:33.368-08:00Go back to Brosius' stats, they are kind of ey...Go back to Brosius' stats, they are kind of eye-opening. Through much of his time with the Yankees he was rather bad. The championships, clutch hits and something about his demeanor gave him that Mystery Element X that causes most Yankee fans (myself included) to remember him as much better than he really was.

We shouldn't need a $12 million player at third to win, the problem is when our options are a decent player who can command $12 million in a tight market and Jayson Nix. I suspect we will find out just what Nix can do as a starting third baseman because Youkilis will prefer a two-year reunion with Francona in Cleveland. Comments like Anonymous's are telling, Yankee fans despise Youkilis and he will not want to deal with their crap if he struggles or gets hurt, plus he needs the security of that two-year deal.Rich Mahoganyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17078545531672950308noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-315155203706829641.post-70140943354130729012012-12-09T11:46:35.585-08:002012-12-09T11:46:35.585-08:00I don't like the idea of him Youkilis playing ...I don't like the idea of him Youkilis playing for us.
