The Good
Every player on the roster is currently on the DL or day to day, which means they should be pretty fresh for the stretch run come July.
The Bad
Did you ever see that movie 'Unbreakable'? Well, meet the 2011 Mr. Glasses. Joba's on the DL (making four relievers currently on the DL: Joba, Marte, Soriano, Feliciano). Martin's hurt his back doing dead lifts. I'm pretty sure somebody died in their sleep of old age. This is getting ridiculous.
The Ugly
How do you give up eight runs in less than six innings? Remember when pitchers who kept giving up runs were taken out of the game by the manager? The good old days!
I Can't Believe We're Making A Donation For This Game
But the children come first. A-Rod hit another home run, netting the children $2 more.
Mark Teixeira 18hr = $36
Curtis Granderson 17hr = $34
Russell Martin 9hr = $18
Alex Rodriguez 11hr = $22
Jorge Posada 6hr = $12
Robinson Cano 12hr = $24
Andruw Jones 4hr = $8
Brett Gardner 3hr = $6
Nick Swisher 5hr = $10
Derek Jeter 2hr = $4
Francisco Cervelli 1hr = $2
Eduardo Nunez 1hr = $2
Total = $172

Somebody needs to wake these guys up. Now I don't condone hurting other players but, as Sean Connery put it in the Untouchables, "When they put one of ours in the hospital we put one of their's in the morgue". If Garcia was going to walk Gonzales anyway and it was going to be his last batter, plunk him. So tonight, as the Yankees send CC to the mound I think the first two batters should be eating some dirt, a nice old school bench clearing brawl in the top of the first might just be the wake up call they need. Besides, as much as the announcers try to play up the Red Sox series, it's lost some of the flavor now that they play each other 142 times a season. Show the Sox that the Yankees still have some fight left in them.
The Yankees may not have any fight in them. They're playing like crap!
The last thing we need is CC getting suspended. Not even stem cells can let Colon start every game.
Hi Roberto Eliud & Fernando. This is Roberto Ariel, Edwin's brother, from Cidra. Check out my blog, "Desde Borinquen." I don't write frequently, but there is stuff there that might interest you.
As to "the good old days," they included pitchers who started 38 to 42 games per season, completed more than 10 of them (sometimes more than 20 or 25) and whose managers did not take them out of the game just because they had made a mere 100 pitches. Where are many of them now? In the Hall of Fame, thank you very much: Nolan Ryan, Jim Palmer, Bob Gibson, Tom Seaver, Juan Marichal, Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale, Gaylord Perry, Ferguson Jenkins, Phil Niekro, Bert Blyleven.
CC and most of today's starting pitchers are not worthy of being compared to those guys and to many who are not even in the HOF. Well, that's my humble opinion anyway.
Best to you and to your folks!
Granderson hit the homer not arod
Wrong game Joey, this review is from Wednesdays game. But I don't blame you seeing as the outcome was pretty much the same.
