Colon Bests the Athletics

The Good

Bartolo Colon continues to defy Father Time and Father Invasive Shoulder Surgery, delivering 7 innings of 2 run ball against the A's. Asked about his performance after the game, Colon responded through an interpreter, "Athletics? They ain't so Athletic! I'm Athletic!" It was a strange response to a question about pitch selection.

The Bad

The Bullpen was not exactly great in this one. Robertson gave up two runs in .2 innings. Mariano, who got a four out save, also gave up a run. That, of course, was in protest of being used in an inning other than the ninth, a little trick he picked up from his time with Rafael Soriano.

The Ugly

Let's just say it. The A's need a new color scheme. There's no way to design a uniform with those colors that don't make you think some team executive's 5 year old drew the prototype with his new box of Crayola after eating all the good colors.

Pardon My French But Let Me Speak Italian . . .
