The Good
Ichiro had a couple hits! Totally awesome!
The Bad
Phil Hughes had another one of those starts that makes you wonder if he has a Jekyll and Hyde complex. He's eerily similar to AJ Burnett: a fastball/curveball pitcher with not a ton of control of where the pitch ends up. It's just a matter of what year of AJ Burnett he's pitching like, and last night, it was closer to the 2010 version. His 4.1 innings and 3 runs was not enough to get the Yankees in position for the win.
The Ugly
Ichiro's 2 hits made up half the Yankee offense last night. We have 6
regular contributors batting at or under .250, and Mark Teixeira is the
only one hitting the long ball. 6 players hitting under .250 and only 1
of them hitting homeruns? The Yankees have officially devolved into
the Kansas City Royals.
Robitussin About to be More Watery
The Yankee homerun drought has left the kids at the Children's Health Fund with little medicine. Maybe Clemens can donate some of his Vitamin B12 shots that helped him pitch well past retirement.
