Yankees Hit More Singles, But Athletics Hit More Homeruns

The Good

The Yankees were making good contact and getting on base.  Four Yankees had multi-hit games including Teixeira who drove in 3 runs.  Preston Claiborne continues to put up 0's as a middle reliever.  He's given up 1 run in 14 outings this year.  He's like the Mariano Rivera of the 6th inning.

The Bad

The Yankees had bases loaded with 1 out in the first, and both Kevin Youkilis and Lyle Overbay flew out to end the threat.  Against older pitchers, you have to strike in the first inning lest they warm up to their younger selves in later innings.

The Ugly

CC Sabathia had another head-scratching start.  He's either lights out, or gets lit up these days, and it's kind of tiring.  6 innings and 6 runs is not the kind of outing we want out of this guy.

The Meds

Little Jimmy's going to have to throw some water in the Robitussin to make it last a little longer, because the next bottle is going to have to wait.  No Yankees were able to clear the outfield wall.  Hafner came close, but even his titan-like strength fell short to the onslaught of atmospheric pressure.

Travis Hafner 10hr = $20
Vernon Wells 10hr = $20
Brett Gardner 6hr = $12
Kevin Youkilis 2hr = $4
Jayson Nix 1hr = $2
Robinson Cano 15hr = $30
Ichiro Suzuki 2hr = $4
Lyle Overbay 8hr = $16
Brennan Boesch 3hr = $6
Francisco Cervelli 3hr = $6
Chris Stewart 3hr = $6
Ben Francisco 1hr = $2
David Adams 2hr = $4
Curtis Granderson 1hr = $2

Mark Teixeira 3hr = $6

Total 67 hrs = $134

I need to try that trick with the Robitussin when my kids get sick. Thanks Fernando.
