Yankees Avoid No Hitter on Way to No Playoff

The Good

There was no no-hitter! Betemit hit a double in the 8th to end Morrow's bid for a no-no. Jeter got a hit later too. Matsui drew 2 walks and scored the only Yankee run. Pettitte pitched a good game at 7 innings and 3 runs, but it wasn't good enough. Veras also pitched a scoreless inning.

The Bad

The Yankees were nearly no-hit by Brandon Morrow on his first major league start of his career.

The Ugly

The Yankees just lost a game to the Seattle Mariners. We are now 8.5 games back in the Wild Card. Pretty wild.

Respect Jeter's Gangster is for the Children

The "Respect Jeter's Gangster" blog joined Johnny Damon's home run club, which raises money for the Children's Health Fund. We are pledged to donate $1.00 for every homerun the Yankees hit this season. We will keep a running tally of the home runs hit and the money donated throughout the season. No homeruns as the Yankees were 2-hit.

Mr T's Dodgers beat up Brandon Webb on their way to the playoffs.

The Dodgers are up 1.5 games and only 3 games above .500. In that division the Yankees would be dominant.
