Prior to anyone warming up, Joba had posed the following question to his fellow relief pitchers in the bullpen: If Jeter is gangster in the woods, and there is no one around to respect it, is he still gangster?
The Ugly
Joba and his fellow relievers were so troubled by the question, by the very thought of Jeter's gangster existing in a wooded vacuum where it could be respected by nobody, that they completely imploded. That, kids, is why philosophy is so dangerous.
