Yanks Destroy White Sox

The Good

Everybody had a hit and scored a run. Everybody. People in the stands were being called in to pinch-hit against Edwin Jackson and even they were getting hits. The Yankees scored one-million runs or something like that.

The Bad

When you look at the box score this morning you may ask yourself, "Was this game played on an XBox?" Yes. Yes it was.

The Ugly

Nick Swisher hit his first home run of the season. After stepping on home plate Swish attempted to dig home plate out of the ground in order to take it home as a memento. He was escorted out of the stadium by security.

Spread These Butter Lyrics Over Harmony Grits

Bonus point if you recognize the reference. Swish and Gardner both hit home runs. Gardner has now hit three on the season, which can only mean the scourge of steroids is back in baseball.

Mark Teixeira 6hr = $12
Curtis Granderson 7hr = $14
Russell Martin 6hr = $12
Alex Rodriguez 5hr = $10
Jorge Posada 6hr = $12
Robinson Cano 6hr = $12
Andruw Jones 1hr = $2
Brett Gardner 3hr = $6
Nick Swisher 1hr = $2
Total = $82

The recap is almost as good as the game. I did not get the reference, leaving my score at zero points.

I agree Roberto the recap was quite good! Gardner is starting to come back to life. Slowly. Its like watching a zombie dig his way out 6 feet of dirt. Could take a few weeks. But once he's out he should be able terrorize the neighborhood.

I saw Nick's homer on TV before I heard the radio recap. It was just barely fair, and Sterling treated it like a Reggie launch, no doubt at all. Honestly, Sterling drives me nuts...

But I'm so glad for Nick, and boy was he happy to finally break out. Now, if we can just get Jorge to realize that 39 years old is not 49...

A Gardner Zombie would be dangerous because it would be a fast, 28 Days Later-type zombie, not a slow, Night of the Living Dead-type zombie.

Yeah, and there's nothing more horrifying than a 28 days later zombie. Zombie's need to move slow and overwhelm in numbers. I should be able to shoot and reload multiple times before they reach me, and once they do, I should be able to run away and repeat the process. 28 days later ruined that plan for me.

Uncle Mike, I agree. I mean he's been hitting homeruns, but they've been very few of recent. Posada needs to figure out this DH thing because like or not, that's his role for the rest of the year.

Maybe Chavez should take over as DH for awhile.
