The Good
The highlight of the game is easily Alfredo Aceves, the Mexican League veteran who pitched 7 innings of 1 run ball against one of the best lineups in baseball. Bruney and Marte pitched 2 scoreless innings of their own. Jeter went 2-5 putting him past Ruth in the all time Yankee hits list. Damon also went 2-5 with both of his hits being homeruns. A-Rod went 2-3 with a homerun of his own as well.
The Bad
Matsui and Cano must have had the same breakfast as they both went 0-4 with 2 strikeouts. Giambi also went 0-3 in the game.
The Ugly
With last night's game Cano is now batting .262 on the season with a .297 on base percentage. Time to stop giving young players contracts.

I like that Alfredo Acevedes guy. He looks pretty gangster - and I mean gangster, like if he knocked on my door, I must owe money to someone that I forgot about kind of gangster. He told one of the interviewers he likes to look intimidating on the mound, and he sure does, and it worked. I call it now, but once everyone gets to know him better, you will annoint him with gangster status. He was pretty bas @ss! Loved it!!
Aceves does look pretty gangster, but in part its because he's aged poorly. That is, of course, if he's truly 25 as the Yankees have him, which I do not really believe.
25? It could be true - they said he pitched in the Mexican league for seven years, so that would make sense. I don't know if he aged poorly - I just think he squints to try and look really mean and it makes his whole face tighted up and get squished together, but as long as he pitches like a MO-FO, I'm happy!!! The Yankees could sure use him, or for that matter, my Tribe could borrow him! But, if he becomes a big star, just know that ESPN 360 will be on the case for his real age (remember a few months age with Miguel Tejada I think?)
