How do the Yankees Make the Playoffs?
For those of you wondering what the chances are of the Yankees making the playoffs, I did some quick number checks. If the Red Sox play .500 baseball for the month of September, and the Twins go 15-10 which seems possible given their 6 games against the Royals, the Yankees would have to go 20-6 on the month just to match them. That means that they would need to go 21-5 to beat either of those teams in that situation OR have the Red Sox play under .500 AND the twins do worse than 15-10 in September. For those hanging on to hope, at least the Yankees took a right step in that direction by winning today. At this point it's not just about how good the Yankees play, it's about how good the other teams play, and to be honest, they don't need to play that good to beat out the Yankees. But who knows? Maybe there will be a Mets like collapse by both the Red Sox and the Twins, and maybe the Yankees remember how to play this game I know called baseball. I suppose anything is possible.

Until they're mathematically eliminated, I guess anything is possible.
Its true. There's plenty that can still happen within the realm of possibility. The likelihood of those things happening however is a whole other story.
Clifton Phifer Lee, who was sent down to the minors last year, now leads the majors with 20 wins.
Impossible really is nothing.
That's what I'm saying Raven, where did that guy come from? Its not like he suddenly started throwing heat or anything like that. He's just dropping 90mph strikes and major league batters are baffled by him. Last year his 90mph strikes were knocked around the AL.
Here's the answer to your question: Quick Voodoo lessons.
"For me, it’s been great,” CanĂ³ said of his defense. “Just a few mistakes I’ve been making lately.”
This is the reason why this team will not make it to the playoffs.
Cashman should be fired for not getting a young promising 2nd base man down in the mionrs.
I'm not gonna lie, I am very sad, yet happy that the yanks arent in the playoff hunt. I guess its all those years that the sox have had first, and the yanks took it from them at the last minute. Either way, I'm glad i stumbled upon this blog (I dont even remember how I found it, I think it was from Scottproctors arm) its nice to have a place where fans of different teams can converse peacefully without having a bunch of smartass remarks. Anyways, even though I dont comment on everything, I still check in daily, so, keep up the good work. Lastly, there better be some good motherfucking redsox-yankees propaganda for the last part of the series at Fenway :) Oh yeah, sorry about the PED scandel, deron. I'm sure you had better range than Jeter (most shortstops do-oh, your burnt, jeter).
i don't think Jeter's going to take kindly to that Fred.
As long as they either throw in the towel or make a huge run, I'm fine. I don't want to win 1, lose 1, and so on. I either want draft compensation, or I want LEGIT hopes of making the playoffs come the last week or so of the season.
And raven, the Yanks are definitely not happy with Cano right now and his complacency. They will adjust somehow this off-season, whether they hire a coach to get on his case or whatever, he won't repeat this crap next year. They will address it. Cashman hasn't exactly replaced him at the minor league level, but he did trade Hawkins for some 23 year old 2B with a good glove and a little pop, but I think he's at the single A level...but sending down Melky was as much for Cano to see as it was to punish Melky for sucking. If that wasn't enough to wake up Cano, the realization that they aren't calling Melky back up now that the rosters expanded should really jolt him. He had one of the worst starts to this season I've ever seen, but his hitting has been better. He just gets lazy at times.
I think Cano's unjoltable after his 4 year contract. That's why you don't give a contract to a young player who has shown signs of laziness. We'll see. I'd love to have Larry Bowa back.
yeah, hopefully he doesnt show up at my house and hit grounders at my knees. I would lose much respect for his gangster.
What you really don't want is Bud Selig showing up with his hulk fists and start punching holes through your wall.
