The Good
There was a fight to add some entertainment to this otherwise crappy game.
The Bad
Yankee offense combined for 6 hits and one run. Only one hit was for extra bases. That's what I call weak.
The Ugly
Four Yankee pitchers combined to give up 12 runs. Pavano lasted 5.1 innings and gave up 5 runs before getting relieved by Dan Giese who recorded 1 out and gave up 3 runs (2 earned). Vowing to show Giese up, Edwar Ramirez stepped in and recorded 2 outs, twice as many as Giese, but also allowed 3 runs (all earned). Lastly, Chris Britton was the gem of the game lasting 1.2 innings and only allowing 1 run.

We have a site for Cleveland fans called waitingfornextyear.com It talks about all of our sports teams, obviously our slogan in Cleveland, there's always next year.
Anyway - the way it looks today "Waiting for Next Year.com....when a 30/30 season can actually help the Tribe! It should have read when a 30/30/30 season (thanks Grady) and a Cy Young award (Cliff Lee) can actually helf the Tribe. Talking about the Yankees, when a gazillion dollar payroll and taking away candy can actually help the Yanks....
I read some of the comments in the article about Lebron and how he's not a Cleveland sports fan. Do you think he should feel obligated to root for Cleveland teams, or are you okay with the fact that he roots for other teams?
Well.......he grew up in Akron, which is about 45 min south of Cleveland, so it's odd that he isn't a Cleveland sports fan, but whatevs. He isn't obligated to do squat, but what I don't like is when he is disrepectful by showing up to Cleveland home games in the opposing team's gear - a la last year's ALDS against the Yankees - and then waving the Yankees hat around when the jumbotron is on him. My sister and her family were at that game, he was booed very LOUD, and many thought that was his first media misstep. So I guess my answer is no, as a die-hard Cleveland fan, I don't feel he's obligated to root for Cleveland sports teams, but I don't think he should disrespect them either. Many Cleveland fans however were really really angry because they are so diehard and passionate, after all, what else do we have in Cleveland but our sports? But, we all know it's only a matter of time before he leaves us for New York (or maybe Europe?) anyway!
Same with Carson Palmer and how he disrespected his own Bengals fans by saying he couldn't stand Ohio State fans (I actually live in this area) - anyway, duh Carson, they are one in the same! Sometimes, not saying anything is better when you are the big sports cheese of the city!
That's why Jeter is so gangster. He knows the right thing to say and do, and knows how to be "politically sports correct."
One other thing about LeBron. Based on his age, the fact that he's a Dallas Cowboys fan and New York Yankees fan and said he grew up being fans of these teams tells me he grew up as a "bandwagon" fan. Both of these teams were dominant in the 90s when he was growing up and he'd rather be a bandwagon fan than a diehard fan. Maybe it didn't run in the family - that's how many are diehards even during the rough years.
I see. Jeter does tend to say the right things, so power to him. I guess Lebron is a polarizing figure in Cleveland. A lot of people on that site were defending him, and others felt the way you did. Good read though.
i need a favor, and i don't know where else to turn. we're having a little debate in my dorm about whether breast feeding in public is disgusting...can you set up a poll with comical yes and no responses to this question? I think that the audience on this blog speaks for the whole nation.
Breast feeding in public is not disgusting but a bit disturbing.
I won't set up a poll for the sake of our younger more innocent audience, but I will give you the answer: Yes, it is.
I'm curious now though, first, how did you get on that topic, and second which side of the debate were you on?
i was on it was disgusting...i work at a museum and there was this mother just sitting in a high traffic area breast feeding...and we were arguing if it was okay or not...i said no.
OK, well obviously I am a woman, and I'm all about women's rights, blah blah blah....but there are some things that should be done in a private area. Some ladies do not like to breastfeed in the restroom for sanitary reasons, but most places like a museum will allow you to use a private room or office if you ask. However, there is the breast pump, and most mothers who breast feed will take milk in the bottle that they pumped to avoid the whole public thing. I would caution you against telling a woman its disgusting though - you'll suffer the wrath!!!
I see Bucky. That makes more sense. Otherwise I really had a hard time envisioning how you would get on that topic.
So was there someone arguing for it?
Well, it seems like women are right back where they were in the 19th Century, interesting...
