Mo May Be Neo

The Good

After 15 years, we may finally have figured out the secret to Mariano's long run of success. Based on the play he made to end the game, jumping over a bat fragment all the while reaching down to field the ball, Mo must be Neo from the Matrix. I must say, he was totally miscast in the movie. Oh, and the Yankees won the game or something.

The Bad

What's with all the late inning runs against Cleveland. We can't hit their starters save literally? WTF?

The Ugly

Teixeira's 3 run home run with 2 outs in the seventh was the difference in the game. Teixeira had the ball retrieved by Yankee Stadium staff. He then grabbed a sharpie and wrote, "Hey Masterson, nice effort today. Wasted. Wasted effort today. Your friend, Marky T" on the ball. He then had it sent to the visiting clubhouse.

Comparing Mariano Rivera to Keanu Reeves is wrong. It is wrong. It is incredibly disrespectful to the greatest relief pitcher ever, and I don't ever want to see that done again.

Of all the Keanu Reeves characters, I think Neo is the only one that is at least respectable. Then again we are talking about Keanu.

I was at the game and I had absolutely no idea what Mo was doing there for a second. I've watched the highlight of that over and over since I got home from that game, though. Awesome.

In fairness, I did say he was miscast. And I don't care what anybody says, when I was 12, Speed was awesome.

Of course "Speed" was awesome. It had Sandra Bullock. And it had the late, great Dennis Hopper, who played crazy people better than anybody, with the possible exception of Manasquan, New Jersey native and Yankee Fan Jack Nicholson.

No doubt that Nicholson is the pinnacle of on-screen crazy. But Dennis Hopper is right there behind him. That movie also had a bus that had to stay above 50. I used to drive a bus and they were all speed regulated so that your max speed was 55. It would pretty much be impossible to keep a bus over 50. As soon as you hit a hill, Dennis Hopper wins.
