I've Found a Way to Move Farnsworth

SI reported a story recently about a minor leaguer who was traded for 10 baseball bats. Granted these bats were maple, but still. They retail for $65.50 if you buy 6 or more so essentially this player was worth $655 to his team. Of course, at the time there was also an immigration issue holding up his joining the team so unloading the contract made sense.

Now, I figure we can get at least 12 bats for Farnsworth, 3 helmets, a bucket of official major league baseballs, and a bucket of sunflower seeds (in case Victor Martinez is feeling moody).

I think you're asking far too much. You'd have to include Hawkins.

I'm not prepared to deal Hawkins, he may be going through his Vizcaino May-June phase right now. I would however be willing to throw in the kid who works in the control booth at Yankee Stadium and is forced to dance to Cotton Eye Joe during the middle of the sixth lest he lose his job.

You can ask for a few candy bars after his performance last night.

Girardi would quit if his beloved Farnsworth was traded for his mortal enemy, candy bars.

that's probably true about Girardi.

Girardi wouldn't quit if you ask for sugar free ones.
