New Year

2010 looks to be an exciting year for baseball, if only because we're going into this year as reigning champs. There's been some turn over, some familiar faces gone, and some new faces coming in, but that's the ebb and flow of the sports world. The thing I'm most looking forward to this coming season is Derek Jeter. This is really the first time he'll be a free agent, which makes this his first walk year. Jeter had a very strong season last year, so its interesting to think what he may do next year. Its also interesting to think about how many years he'll sign for.

What are you all looking forward to this coming season?

I am excited to see our rotation this year. If Vasquez puts up the same performance he is last year with the Braves and if Burnett can go two seasons in a row without hurting himself I think we match up against anyone in the majors. Also I am curious to see what they will do with Joba and Hughes. I think Hughes should go to the rotation and Joba to the pen. In the past I have been a big supporter of Joba as a starter, but he seems to be too inconsistent in that role, where as he is lights out coming out of the pen. The Yanks need to start thinking of a successor to Mariano, could Joba be that guy?

Vazquez is going to be interesting to watch back in the AL. He's also in a walk year, which will certainly give him some motivation.

Hughes also has been inconsistant in the starting role, but many seem to think that he projects to be a better starter. I think its certainly worth giving him a shot. What was furiating about Joba was his refusal to throw strikes. He was trying to be too fine, when he didn't have the control to be hitting spots.

Looking forward to seeing how Grandy and Javy perform in pinstripes. Want to see improvement for Cervelli and Gardner as well. Most importantly I want more calls from Bronny! P.s. I post as clintfsu813 on twitter. Thanks for posting with me there as well. Keep it up fellas!

Good to know JeterIsGod, there will be a lull in the twittering while my parents visit me for about a week here in England but I will still be around regularly after that.
