Yankees Win Towers Sweepstakes
At the beginning of the winter there was some discussion of where former Padres GM Kevin Towers might end up, with the Yankees battling it out with the Mariners. Well, the Yankees won, and are expected to announce some time before Spring Training that Kevin Towers will be joining the Yankees.

This is a much better prize than we got in the Josh Towers sweepstakes.
But not better than what we might win in the Fawlty Towers sweepstakes: John Cleese as first base coach.
Think about it, it's not clear the first base coach does anything besides take a runner's gloves and helmet, and at least we'd remember Cleese's name.
Holy Crap! I just realized this is the 3rd year of the blog. My, how time flies.
Yeah, it really has gone fast. It's been a great experience so far and getting to comment with all of you is really what makes this worth doing. You've been with us from the beginning Fred, so kudos to you.
hey, I'm on the pavano deal! I need to go nurse my back now, and cash my paycheck.
In all seriousness.
Its not hard being onboard with a blog that makes me laugh my ass off and provides information and allows run on sentences.
I just found this blog in the middleish of the season and only started commenting out of my mind in the past few weeks or so because I am so BORED with this Hot Stove, but I'm glad I'm here.
Also, first base coach is a very important and gross role because a lot of those gloves are very sweaty. And Posada, of course, pees on his hands!!! (I know he doesn't wear gloves because he is a badass and all. But go along with it. For the joke. Yeah.)
And John Cleese just isn't as good a name as the Mets' ex-third base coach from 2009, Razor Shines. He's also the 3rd base coach of life:

Run on sentences will always be welcome here because people shouldn't have to divide their phrases with punctuation if that is not what they want to do since nobody likes punctuation or uses it correctly anyway.
Posada does pee on his hands, but only during Spring Training (Moises Alou was also a believer in this approach to "toughening" your hands). If I was the Yankees first base coach, I'd go for one of those Brett Favre deals where I don't have to show up to any pre-season training. It's not like I need to practice taking gloves from players or anything.
