About That Trade...

According to CNNSI the Red Sox are interested in reacquiring Hanley Ramirez now that they've missed out on Marky T. It's not like Ramirez was in their farm system and they traded him away for Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell or anything. Good move Boston, good move.

Yeah...you don't see the Yanks trying to get Lowell back, do ya?

Have some respect for yourselves, Boston. Jeez....

You can't blame the Red Sox for wanting to upgrade their shortstop.
Julio Lugo is definitely not the Fenway Park version of Derek Jeter.
Hopefully the Merlins can take one or two top prospects away from the Boston farm system.

I'd be surprised if that trade ever gets made.

Aren't the Merlins famous for trading away brilliant players and making money out of it?
I don't see why this trade won't happen as long as the price is right.

The Marlins typically trade brilliant players who are about to reach free agency. Hanley was just signed to a 7 year deal that will see him in Florida through 2014. He's also the face of that franchise. I think it will take a lot for the Marlins to trade him back.

Agreed. The general pattern with the Marlins is they build a team until it reaches some measure of success (usually a WS, 97 and 03) and then have a fire sale. Free agency is the other trigger.

That trade won them the World Series, so I don't see how much they could regret it...
