What Impressed Me About CC

I certainly did not think that CC wanted to come to the Bronx. He was a west coast guy who wanted to stay there, and that's understandable. But I'm impressed that he has chosen to not only play for the Yankees, but to move his family to the area. He easily could have kept his new home, kids, and wife in California, waiting for his opt-out clause to kick in. Heck, most of the big stars on the Yankees have their family residences in Florida. But Sabbathia has made a very conspicuous display of his desire to be here by deciding to move his entire family to the area.

Both CC and AJ spoke well at their press conferences, and in their subsequent interviews on the fan. Either they get it or Jason Zillo is a good press guy.

In other news, reported pretty much everywhere at this point, except here, because we don't engage in speculation, the Red Sox have been outbid for the services of Mark Teixeira, who will apparently be playing for Warren Buffett. If this is true, then I have to wonder if the Yanks will even bother with Manny, though I still think that is likely.

No way would CC leave his family on the left coast or have them anywhere but with him! He's that kind of guy. We loved him in Cleveland as a player and as a person, take good care of him!

I'm glad we got CC, I think he'll be loved in NY...maybe I'll but a CC shirt, since all of my yankee shirts are out of date (Williams, Mussina, and Sheffield)

I don't understand the Red Sox. The Yankees made themselves incredibly strong, and their owners have a move to counter that, and they don't do it. Can you imagine the uproar in Yankee-dom if the shoe was on the other foot?

We will. Us Yankee fans are known for our loving kindness to players who falter in the post season. Its what makes us who we are.

Yeah, but in fairness the Red Sox don't really have a glaring hole at first base since that is Youkillis' position. They were hoping to have Teix play first and move Youkillis to third in case Lowell's injury proved problematic, but it wasn't like the Yankees glaring holes in the rotation that needed to be addressed. Still, the locals will be ticked. The Sox have the money to make it happen, but don't want to.

I loved CC yesterday. But let's not forget A.J. He was second banana to Halladay in Toronto and now he's second banana to CC in New York. He can't get a break. Oh, wait. Did I just say BREAK? I hope I didn't jinx the guy.

Who is this AJ you speak of, and does he come with a money back guarantee?

Ewww, you said Youklis. Was that really necessary so close to Christmas?!?!?!
