Colon Seeks to Reassure Hughes

The Good

With Nova quickly becoming our second-best pitcher, and with Garcia and Colon pitching well, it is not clear where Hughes would fit into the rotation once his stint on the DL with an invented injury is over. But Colon, ever the consummate gentleman, has reassured Hughes that his spot will be there when he gets back with today's brutally awful performance. What a teammate!

The Bad

Nick Swisher tied the game with a home run in the sixth but was oddly displeased with the result. "I was trying to loop it foul," explained Swisher. "I really like it when that happens, but it didn't happen at all. It just went out. Bull$#!%."

The Ugly

Boone Logan, whom you may remember from last year since I'm pretty sure he hasn't pitched this year, gave up the lead in the sixth after the Yankees had clawed their way back to tie the game. "I thought we'd tie it again, so it didn't really matter how I pitched," explained Logan.

Young Money

Swish was the only one looking out for the kids yesterday. Even if he was just trying to loop it foul. $2 more for our future.

Mark Teixeira 8hr = $16
Curtis Granderson 10hr = $20
Russell Martin 6hr = $12
Alex Rodriguez 5hr = $10
Jorge Posada 6hr = $12
Robinson Cano 8hr = $16
Andruw Jones 1hr = $2
Brett Gardner 3hr = $6
Nick Swisher 2hr = $4
Total = $98

Comment deleted? I didn't know Boone Logan reads your blog. Whatever he wrote, you were right to make fun of his performance.
