Pettitte's Getting A Visit
Bronny Cash left the Winter Meetings in a hurry to meet with Andy Pettite, the Post is reporting. Apparently he's making him an offer he can't refuse. The Yanks seem prepped to sign Burnett, leaving one spot in the rotation. Cash will set a $10M contract before Mr. Pettitte and assure him that either his name, or that of Ben Sheets, will be on the contract.

It's funny that the Yanks tend to throw big money at players from other teams instead of players from their own system.
in fairness, as we have learned, most of the players in their own system blow.
Just compare Team Carl the Saviour & Kei Igawa with Team Dandy Andy & Wang.
Now the Yanks want pay Andy less than Pavano.
And Wang's salary is exactly the same as Igawa's.
To be honest, CC is good, but he is overpaid.
yeah, but Pettitte is not worth $16M anymore (not to say those free agents were worth what they got), at least as far as the Yankees are concerned. Wang is someone they should consider paying more, but as last year's experience showed, paying out to pitchers you otherwise have under your control is a bad idea.
