1,000th Post!

The Good

Yeah, the Yankees beat the Nationals with Sabathia on the mound, which really isn't good, its more like a given. The real good is that this here is our 1000th post since the beginning of our blog. If you have read all 1000 of our posts, then, wow, I don't think I've even read all our posts.

Oh, and Cano had 4 hits.

The Bad

We almost lost to the Nationals. That's not cool. Wang's on the mound tonight, and he really needs to show something.

The Ugly

Our captain, Derek Sanderson Jeter, is day to day with a stiff ankle. Though we may have a better glove on the field when Ramiro Pena is at short, we have far less gangster with Jeter out of the lineup.

Respect Jeter's Gangster is for the Children

The "Respect Jeter's Gangster" blog joined Johnny Damon's home run club, which raises money for the Children's Health Fund. We are pledged to donate $1.00 for every homerun the Yankees hit this season. No homeruns from the Yankees last night as the Nationals, who are known for their dominant pitching staff, oppressed the Yankee bats.

Jorge Posada 9hr = $9.00
Hideki Matsui 10hr = $10.00
Derek Jeter 9hr = $9.00
Mark Teixeira 20hr = $20.00
Nick Swisher 12hr = $12.00
Robinson Cano 11hr = $11.00
Johnny Damon 13hr = $13.00
Melky Cabrera 6hr = $6.00
Jose Molina 1hr = $1.00
Alex Rodriguez 9hr = $9.00
Brett Gardner 2hr = $2.00
Total = $102.00

it's one of those days, I have to root for the Nats. One, starter John Lannan, pitched for a local college, so I would like to see him do well. Two, if Wang does poorly Hughes will be back in the rotation, where he belongs.
This is almost as bad as when the Sox play the Mets and I root for a tie.

Haha, well, you can always hope for a pitchers duel, that the Nationals bullpen ends up giving up, kind of like yesterday. Hughes does belong in the rotation, but so does Wang and if he gets right, he's going to give us way more quality innings than Hughes.

Hughes will have his shot next season after Pettitte is gone.

I'll have my brother get on that, Iris. I'd do it myself, but my admin privileges were revoked years ago due to numerous profanity laden posts and comments and pictures with bubble quotes.

...rooting for a tie? Are you Bud Selig?

Steve said...

If I was Bud Selig I would be rooting for the Red Sox, owned by my close friend and lover John Henry

Calm down, Tribe Girl, I'm sure Carl the Ace will be OK once they give him a new neck.
