More Interesting Headlines

Saw this one over at Fox Sports:

First, you could have ended that headline after the first two words, and there would have been no argument from anyone. Simple statement of fact.

Second, that can't be good news for the Jays. Not that anyone had high expectations for them, but if you come back against the Royals' best pitcher, then lose to their bullpen, that's low.

Third, stopping that headline after the third word would have been highly inappropriate.

Glad you liked it.

Awesome, except for Greinke. It must be a soul-crushing experience to pitch for that team.

I was surprised when Greinke agreed to an extension supposedly b/c of his comfort in KC. I have to think it had more to do with the inherent risk in pitching, no guarantee you ever reach free agency. All it takes is one injury and all your value is gone. But still, agreeing to be with the Royals long term is pretty much a commitment to losing. If he's comfortable with that it's probably better he stays in KC. He'd die in a market like NY, Philly, Boston.

Roberto - If you don't remember, Greinke supposedly has terrible anxiety issues, which might explain why he doesn't mind being on a relatively low-key team like the Royals. I don't think we should start getting excited about his future in a Yankee uniform, or nervous about his future in a Boston uniform.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure he's married to like a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model or something like that, so maybe he doesn't mind the fame THAT much...

I don't remember the anxiety issues, and I never really wanted him on the Yanks, but I don't suspect he would fare well in a market like NY. Nor would he fare well in Boston, which actually makes me excited about his future in a Boston uniform.
