Road Trip Opinion Piece

Obviously it is a small sample size, but after six games I think Curtis Granderson will be this year's Mark Teixeira. Teixeira was the best move by Cashman from last season. As important as CC and AJ were to the success of 2009, Teixeira's impact on offense and defense made him the best signing of the bunch in my mind. Granderson is hitting, slugging, and making some great plays in center. Today he made the type of catch that, while ruled a hit, hasn't been seen in a center field patrolled by a Yankee in a long time. Both Johnson and Vazquez will prove to be important pieces this year, but I think when all is said and done that Granderson will clearly be the best move Cashman made for 2010 (granted, he's probably already considered the best move from last winter, but who cares, I needed something to write about).

Love Curtis so so so so SO much. He made TWO plays that were just crazy today, even if one was called a hit because the umpires are botards (you forgot Mussina lookalike Burrell getting doubled off).

I totally agree. Granderson is going to be a complete player for the Yankees.

Cashman is great at buying low on a good player who fills a need. He has done it in two straight offseasons now with Granderson and Swisher.

By the way, how good is Swisher looking at the plate? He is giving pitchers and Joe West fits.

javy doesnt worry me. its on bad outing people up here at school were bugging about him not pitching well.. it was one game. i think we are solid, i think tex is the best pick of the last two years, with cc and grandy following. w/o tex i dont see us winning the world series last year

CC pitched badly in the home opener last year, leading to cries that the CC contract was a disaster and the new stadium was cursed.

also, guys, I hate to say it, but well, NSS that a very very good position player who plays a premium defensive position will be more valuable than a #4 pitcher and a DH.
