Sabbathia Watch

I haven't slept in three days. I press the refresh button on Pete Abe's blog every three minutes to see if the news has broken that Sabbathia has signed with the Yankees. WFAN is on all day, even when they're broadcasting hockey. I send practice text messages to my brother stating that the Yanks have signed Sabbathia for six years and $145 million. Hopefully, the madness will be over tomorrow. Until then, I won't be very productive.

WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP!!!!!!@#$!@#%$#@%@$#%@$#%$@#% I just clicked on Pete Abe's blog from here as usual and saw the Cubs are going to play 2 exhibition games in the new stadium to mark the grand opening. WE (THE TRIBE) have the home opener in the new stadium. I guess we're not historic enough, not good enough, not WHATEVER enough to welcome the new stadium???? EFF whoever made THAT decision!!!! See, this is what makes me sick about New York. Their fans booing A-Rod, by far the best player in the game, and the executives doing crap like this. Ooooh, I am so mad right now!

lol, if you watched A-Rod last season, he deserved a few good Boo's here and there

Are you honestly upset that the Cubs and Yanks are gonna play a couple meaningless exhibition games in YS 2.0?

And I know how you feel Roberto. I'm constantly checking ESPN day and night to find out when CC has signed.

I don't have a problem with the cubs playing in NY, but what I don't get is why they're having exhibition games at all. Sabbathia better sign soon.

Will you please relax?
I'm sure CC's agent, the notorious Ari Gold, will put his ultra superstar client on the first private jet to New York after they finish singing Let's make lots of money.

Yeah, I'm still mad. Even though they are meaningless games, they are the first games in the new stadium, and that honor belonged to the Tribe. Until today. So yeah, I'm mad.

And, I'm still on the CC watch!!! Did you read on SI.com where the MLB union might force him to take the Yankees offer? Hmmmm....

I really don't think a decision is going to come soon. As far as I know, we're the only ones who have offered him anything. He's going to wait for all offers to come in and weigh his options, so I wouldn't hold my breath.......

(Pst, I'm actaully hoping that my bad luck in predictions continues, and I'm wrong here too..hehe take that fate!)

I know his agent is likely looking to shop Sabathia around, but the facts are the facts. No one is coming close to the Yankees offer. As Pete Abe stated, No one is even within $40 million of the Yankees offer (Brewers offered $100 million). The teams with that kind of capitol are the Cubs (Close to signing Dempster), the Red Sox (Completely uninterested in Sabathia), the Angels (Looking at Teixeira), and maybe the Dodgers (Looking at Manny). The Yankees offer puts them in a league of their own. Sabathia will find nothing close to it. So it would surprise me if it stretches beyond this, unless he decides to go to another team for dozens of millions less.
