Best of the RJG

We received a great suggestion from one of our readers about creating a greatest hits of RJG on the right hand side of our page for new readers to get the full experience of RJG. In order to accomplish this we would like you, the readers, to tell us what your favorite posts are. We have some in mind that we can put up, but we want to know what you all like. So please sound off in the comments section with all the posts you deem worthy. We appreciate it!

Yankees to Buy Chemistry

"We are proud to announce that our $180 million purchase of chemistry has been completed, and we look poised to have a strongly bound group that will lead us to a world championship against all odds, which will later become a Disney movie starring Danny Glover as Joe Girardi."

I'm too lazy to go back and look at the exact urls like Joelle and Anonymous but I liked the one entitled "Spare Us Ken Rosenthal" and the one where the Yankees wrote a letter to their fans basically telling them that they respect their rich fans more then the ones who buy bleacher seats. Also the call to Bronny where you first insult his mother was hysterical as well.

i was just trying to pick up my favorite bronny cash calls, and i was losing it on just about all of them. can't you just create a special section for ONLY bronny cash encounters.

you could name it something clever, and it'd rule. i won't even chip in with a suggestion because clever is not my forte, at least not the way eating stromboli is.

bronny cash in general. but eric hinske is a yankee. good bench guy can play corner inf. and corner outfield.

Fernando Alejandro said...

I heard about that Quinn. I don't like it and here's why: Shelley Duncan should be our backup corner outfielder.

cheshirecat9 said...

Fernando I totally agree with you about Shelly Duncan. I want him on our major league club.

Quinn said...

i respect your opinion on duncan i like him too. but to be honest if you throw the guy a curve ball he cant hit it. hinske has won two world series and can play off the bench. swisher when he gets cold, which we all know he does he can be spelled by hinski. hinski also is an upgrade of duncan because of his ability to play third base. by the way can you guys do a live chat? i think that would be fun for all of the regular posters and the guys who comment occasionally and even the new guys. just talking yankees. everyone here seems to have a level head about the yanks and isnt too irrational so it would be fun

I don't know how I feel about Erich Hinske being on our team now. My lasting memory of him is how the red sox brought him from Toronto, and at the time it seemed like the only reason he was there was because he could hit Wang really well. Since they're on the same team now I don't see how that will help him. Either way, I hope he does well, in whatever small role he comes in for.

Does this mean they send down Pena or Ransom? I've read elsewhere that it'll be Pena, and that they're going to try to teach him the outfield, so that he comes back as a super utility later on. (http://blogs.nypost.com/sports/st/archives/2009/06/yanks_obtain_hi.html) I don't really know how I feel about that. Why not mess with Ransom's development? He's older, but pretty athletic, and not a prospect.

@ Quinn, I like your idea. I don't comment alot, but I feel comfortable when i do.

i really enjoyed the "AROD's list of priorities" and the "unused NY headlines"

The sooner 'best of' is up the better! I haven't stopped by here in a while and had forgotten what a great antidote this place is for the toxic stuff on other blogs, I need a major injection of RJG ASAP.

These are all great suggestions. I'll continue to compile them so keep them coming if you have them.

Quinn, I hear your point about Shelley, but even in triple A, you can't bat over .300 without being able to hit breaking balls. Its also a matter of principle in that, he's really playing well, and if you don't promote a player whose over performing then why have that player to begin with? I think they should at least give him a shot.

Also, the chat thing would be cool. Maybe during a game or something like that. I'll have to look into it.

This might be a little late, but here are a few of my favorites. I cant remember the exact names but here it goes: the "jeter speaking in emoticons interview" and all of the "bronny cash demoting players to the minor leagues" those all had me dying lol. There are just so many to pick from
