For anyone who missed it, the Giants won last night. The defining moment came when Eli Manning broke out of a tackle, and hurled a throw that Tyree caught against his helmet and somehow held onto as he went down. It was awesome.
I for one do not really follow football, and do not have a team except for the Saints who I adopted after their city was destroyed by a hurricane. But football is an exciting game, and the super bowl is one of the greatest sport traditions in America.
Here's hoping that the Giants victory over the favored Patriots will project into the baseball realm, where the Red Sox have established themselves as the team to beat. Baseball just needs to start already.
