And We're Back
The RJG took an unexpected weekend hiatus to head over to Florida and begin pushing the Yankee brass to make some roster decisions. The result was Gardner getting selected as the centerfielder and Albaladejo being named to the bullpen. With the bullpen and outfield shored up, we have a clear sign that opening day is fast approaching. As a matter of fact, one week from today we have the first game of the season against the Baltimore Orioles. For those who can't wait, there are a pair of exhibition games with the Cubs at the new stadium on Friday and Saturday. Excitement is in the air, and opening day is near. Jeter's first .400 average season is soon going to start, and Sabathia's first 30 win season will begin with a victory on that day. Robinson Cano's 40 homeruns begin that day too, as does Brett Gardner's 70 steals. Let this post serve as a reminder that if you haven't requested to leave work early on Monday, now's the time to do so. Let's go Yankees!

Thanks for forcing them to make the right moves.
You're welcome BBD, now they just have to make the Berroa or Pena decision.
It should be Pena. The new greatest future Yankee ever.
I agree, pena's a prodigy in the making.. and good look with that gardner decision! how many of us called it?? lmao!..
imagine how upset I am that I'am gonna miss pretty much the first exibition game against the cubs? i got a double header that day =( so it looks like I'am smacking a few line drives to 3rd out of pure frustration.. thank god for yankee encores though right? but i am a sentimentalist.. i love watchin the first pitch, and watching all the way up to the last out (in live, real time)... grrr...
/i hope all thoese "reminders" come true!!! .400 jeter? hall of fame would have his plaque ready and waiting if that happended! (not like its not already in storage)
i'd very much love for you to be right about all those numbers haha
let's go yankees!!!
I am with you guys and hope they go with Pena. I don't know too much about him, but I like the home town feel. What position is he strongest at? In a couple of years we are going to have to start thinking about a new short stop.
Pena is a shortstop. He is being discussed as Jeter's inevitable replacement. His hitting will have to improve first, but supposedly he's the future. Granted, two years ago Hughes was the future. Now Joba is in the rotation and Hughes is considered a very good prospect but not necessarily the future anchor of the staff. Melky was our future centerfielder once too, now he's on the bench. We'll see how this all plays out for young Mr. Pena. I hope he succeeds, we need more youth in the infield.
