The beginning and end of ST are awesome especially if you live in a really cold place. You get the Yankees back in your life and you might be able to go outside with less than 4 layers on.

It's awesome because we discovered Ramiro Pena, who can really play the infield and hit a little too. Only bad news is he got hurt last night. Figures.

What? No, Puerto Rico loses to Team USA?

It still hurts too much.

Oh, yes, Puerto Rico lost to Team USA and Cuba lost to Japan.
This is why I hate the stupid WBC.

Is it just me or is this the longest off season ever. Spring training is just not cutting it for me anymore.

Every day that goes by just ends with up with me entering another fantasy league.

PS. we should have a RJG fantasy league.

SA Yankee Fan, its a good idea! I'm a little new to the fantasy scene though. I'm trying it out now, and will see how it works, and then maybe introduce that next year.

My new WBC team is Korea. Go Team Korea!

Me too, trying it out for the first time this year. Following baseball from South Africa involves alot of time on the internet loking at stats and writeups. Fantasy baseball just gives me something more to do during the day.

Let me know if you are going to start somethng up. Most keeper leagues are private and people in SA watch cricket. I have nobody to invite.

Question is, do you take Hanley as your first pick or Jeter?

Fernando Alejandro said...

Hanley without a doubt. Jeter's gangster isn't about his stats.

So how did you get into baseball in South Africa? What is the baseball scene like down there?

Went to the states on holiday when I was 16, picked up a few american sports, baseball, vasketball and football.

Loved NY and I support Ny teams, Yankees, Jets and Knicks.

So far, the Yankees are the only ones that have given me any joy.

There is no baseball down here. It's pretty much non existant, I honestly don't know how we ended up in the WBC. I think they just went down to a sports club and asked who would like a free trip oversees, the ones that put up their hands are on the team. Cricket is the game in this part of the world.....

The Springbok is quite outstanding.

SA Yankee Fan, you picked the right team! That's cool that you took an interest in some American sports. I really do hope baseball can begin to take a more prominent role around the world. The fact that South Africa fields a team is a step in the right direction, even if it isn't popular there yet.
