David Robertson

David Robertson has established himself as a reliable right handed reliever. I'm not sure anything stands out about Robertson except his effectiveness. His greatest asset is his willingness to throw strikes and challenge hitters. He also has a MasterCard, which he uses for everyday purchases.
2010 Prediction:
Girardi will continue to rely on Robertson, only to inexplicably take him out of games in which he is pitching effectively.
Little Known Robertson Fact:
Robertson once pitched a perfect game in Little League. The record was overturned when it was discovered that, at the time, he'd been 21 years old.

AND REMEMBER THE TIME HE GOT OUT OF BASES LOADED NOBODY OUT?! Clearly the guy has been taking notes from Mr. Rivera.
Robertson really has handled the pressure well. Hopefully he continues to come up big in those situations. Having Mo in the 'pen to get advice from can't hurt.

To be fair, after losing two of three to the Nationals, everyone I know declared "Waaaah here we go to third place again, we're not making the playoffs." EXCEPT ME MOFOS!!!! Optimism FTW. Not BLIND optimism, but optimism.
to be honest.. it wasnt dave's fault.. he owed a large sum of money to the russian mob and they made him pitch in the llws... so leave him alone. its not his fault he has a problem gambling on cock fights.
Debt to the mob aside, he still broke the rules, so I still think he should be kept out of the Little League Hall of Fame.
The Yanks really were a different team between the first and second halves last year. A series like that against Washington is exactly why you can't flip out in June and declare your team dead (unless you root for the Pirates, Royals, Os, Blue Jays, Nationals, in which case you can make that declaration in a week or so when pitchers and catchers report).
I wouldn't disagree that they were searching for consistency in the first half, but that's been the case with EVERY Yankee team in the past couple of years, though I think the 2009 squad was quite a bit better than other recent teams. If the recent Yankees ever got their sh-t together prior to July, watch the hell out, American League.
Fun fact: Robertson was the MLB leader in K/9 last season.
