Pettitte Sharp, Stomps Diamondbacks

The Good

A strong start from Pettitte who went 7 innings allowing 2 runs and striking out 7. A-Rod had a great game hitting a homerun and driving in 3 runs. Jeter had a 2 hit game.

The Bad

Dan Haren owned Pettitte....offensively. He had two hits and drove in 2 runs, bringing his batting average up to .452 on the season. Pettitte responded with a single of his own building enmity between the two.

The Ugly

(Insert Ugly Section Here)

I'd like to submit for The Ugly:

Gardner didn't live up to the expectations he set last night, & went 0 for 3 with 2 strikeouts. Not only that, but when he got on base with a walk, he got thrown out at second on an inning ending strike-em-out-throw-em-out double play. This guys a bum. It's only a matter of time before Bronny trades him for a bucket of balls...

Ugly:

The Diamondbacks are widely known as the D-Backs, which sounds like D-Bags. The Diamondbacks beat the Yankees in the 2001 World Series. Ergo, the Yankees lost the World Series to D-Bags.

Also, did you know that someone stole your idea about dividing recaps into three themed sections and made it into a Western starring Clint Eastwood?

Andy Pettitte: 7 IP, 2 ER and his ERA went UP.

The Ugly: Arizona's bullpen. Like, I mean, I'd HEARD about how bad it was, but I was watching the top of the eighth with a sort of abject horror. I mean, I was excited, but dear lord. We all like to complain about Joba and Chan Ho Park and etc etc but can you imagine being an Arizona fan?

Also, how many freaking times are they going to mention the goddamn 2001 World Series and how much it sucked?

Those are some good bad's. Gardner was bad in yesterday's game, but he's batting .322 on the season with a .402 OBP. He has been getting thrown out a lot lately, but he's 4th in the majors with stolen bases. He's doing pretty good for someone who's still cheap.

Rich, Clint Eastwood will pay! And I made the same observation about the D-backs name, and I was told I was so immature.

Lady Gaganonymous, they're bullpen was horrendous! The walk-off balk is classic.
