Yanks Take Second Game From Seattle

The Good

Mark Teixeira and Andy Pettitte. Pettitte gave us a strong six innings while Teixeira hit a go-ahead solo shot in the top of the ninth. With Mo as your closer, that was the end of the game.

The Bad

The Yanks were not able to muster more than two runs off of Seattle pitcher Rowland-Smith (I think that's his name). They were off balance all night, and if Seattle had a more competent offense, this may have been a very different game.

The Ugly

Texas needs a closer. WTF Texas? Six runs allowed in the top of the ninth? Seriously? Go home and think about what you did.

That Warm and Fuzzy Feeling

Only one pro-child baseball player in last night's game, Marky T.

Jorge Posada 15hr = $15.00
Hideki Matsui 19hr = $19.00
Derek Jeter 14hr = $14.00
Mark Teixeira 30hr = $30.00
Nick Swisher 18hr = $18.00
Robinson Cano 18hr = $18.00
Johnny Damon 22hr = $22.00
Melky Cabrera 11hr = $11.00
Jose Molina 1hr = $1.00
Alex Rodriguez 21hr = $21.00
Brett Gardner 3hr = $3.00
Francisco Cervelli 1hr = $1.00
Eric Hinske 5hr = $5.00
Jerry Hairston Jr. 1hr = $1.00
Total = $179.00

hey! Tell your team to cut the crap and to stop playing to a .750 winning percentage.

Jeez, its ridiculous how well the yanks have been playing in the second half. Maybe you guys should tell Captain Jetes to take pity on the sox and let them catch up a little bit to make the division race interesting.

YES! MARKY T!
And is Robbie going to decide he really likes hitting when it means something? How great is that?

What was funny was watching the Seatle announcers buildtheir shrine to Mo. I think they must have spent the rest of the night outside the hotel holding candles. Maybe even got arrested trying to sneak up to his floor.
I hope for their sakes, the Mariners players don't have the "well, of course we can't win against this team, especially with Mariano there."
They do play that way, though, don't they? I really don't think it's because they're star struck, though

The Mariners fans behind me were saying that Tex is the biggest Mariner killer as he came to bat. They saw him a bunch when he was with Texas and the Angels. Once he hit that and they flashed that Mo was warming up they got en mass and left. The one who stayed was explaining to his girlfriend that Mo is the best in the game and thier 7,8,9 hitters are perhaps the worst. They were pretty disheartened.
