Posada to Choose Rehab Over Surgery
Jorge Posada wants to choose rehabbing his shoulder and remaining as a DH/Firstbaseman over pursuing the surgery. He says that it doesn't hurt while batting but he is limited by the injury at the plate, and is especially limited while batting left handed. I think this is a bad move for Posada. I understand he wants to be apart of a playoff push and a potential post season, but I wonder if he may sacrifice more of his future to keep playing injured now. Not to mention that a surgery in October will lead to a 6 month recovery time ending in late April, and I doubt we'd see him for some time after that. Further more, what can we really expect from an injured Posada? Better than Moeller? Sure. But he said himself that batting lefty was troublesome and with that goes the Yankee stadium homers. Were going to be seeing about a .270 average out of him with little pop. Is this really worth sacrificing the injury? What do you all think? Keep him in or make him get the surgery?

As much as it sucks, have to go with surgery. In the long run it will probably help more. Not to mention, how great can he really be at 1B? He's played it only a handful of times, so I don'think his defense will help much either.
Yeah, I forgot about the defense part, but you're right, I can't imagine him helping that much on the field. I think the question is, can an injured Posada be more effective than Richie Sexson? I haven't seen enough of Sexson to really answer, but I think the answer is yes. Either way, he needs to go for the surgery, if only to be safe and not make matters worse than they are. When you hear him explaining the injury it sounds like his shoulder is a couple tendons shy of exploding.
he should have surgery and then guest blog on RJG about the rehab process.
I think the "Jorge P Rehab Watch" on RJG will be really boring.
He'll be as politically correct as Jeter and talk about nothing but how much he want to return to the lineup and help the team.
I say let Jorge have surgery at soon as possible and find someone as honest as Billy "Nothing but the Truth" Wagner to guest blog.
It'll be fun as hell.
You have to feel sorry for Greg Maddux. It seems he'll never get his351th win.
And if you put Jorge st 1B, his Arm will throw the ball to 2nd base like Big G and ruin a double play.
I think Jorge should go with the surgery now and be a big part of the 2009 team. I totally see his point of view in wanting to help the team this year. But I think he needs to think about his future and not make things worse.
Big series this weekend! Go Joba!!!
Yeah it is. When is Moose pitching? Is he getting the start Sunday or is he up against Baltimore next week.
Moose is scheduled to start on Tuesday against Baltimore.
For now, Sunday's starter will be Mr. To be announced.
They might call up Ian Kennedy and give him another chance.
Thanks Raven, I'm really pulling for the man to reach 20 and he definitely needs a win against Baltimore to get there.
