Yanks Sweep

The Good

CC Sabathia struck out thirteen on the way to his 11th victory, a 7.2 inning chastisement of his former team for failing to re-sign him after the 2008 season. Luis Ayala has a 1.42 ERA over 25.1 innings. That's pretty good. Teixeira hit his 300th career home run, his league leading 25th of the season. He would've had more by now but he's afraid of needles.

The Bad

I ran out of milk today and had to eat my cereal with a water/protein powder mix. As you can imagine, it wasn't the most satisfying bowl of cereal ever.

The Ugly

The Yankees now head to CitiField to face the Mets. That's it.

One for All

Only Teixeira held down the children today. The rest of the Yankees are deadbeats.

Mark Teixeira 25hr = $50
Curtis Granderson 21hr = $42
Russell Martin 10hr = $20
Alex Rodriguez 13hr = $26
Jorge Posada 9hr = $18
Robinson Cano 13hr = $26
Andruw Jones 4hr = $8
Brett Gardner 4hr = $8
Nick Swisher 10hr = $20
Derek Jeter 2hr = $4
Francisco Cervelli 1hr = $2
Eduardo Nunez 2hr = $4
Ramiro Pena 1hr = $2
Total = $232

An unheralded reliever with decent stuff for the pen has given us more value than two very expensive veterans. Who would have imagined?

"I ran out of milk today and had to eat my cereal with a water/protein powder mix."

That is the breakfast of champions and, coincidentally, the key to Ayala's success.

It was Ayala who suggested it to me.
