Yankees Not All That Good With Sabathia

The Good

Posada hit a homerun, his second in as many games, as he came in as a pinch hitter. Jeter stole his 5th base of the season.

The Bad

SixYankee starting position players went hitless including Damon who went 0-5, and Teixeira who went 0-3 with a walk, bringing his season average down to .182. Cano's hit streak ended with an 0-4 game.

The Ugly

I know the Yankees have no confidence in the bullpen, but running up Sabathia pitch count is INCREDIBLY STUPID. They sent him out for the 7th inning, and he got rocked. He had already thrown 99 pitches going into the 7th. Sabathia has been horrible when they try to stretch him out like this, so here is my note to the Yankees: Fix your bullpen, and you won't have to wear Sabathia out in the first year of his 7 year $161 million contract. Durability has its limits.

Respect Jeter's Gangster is for the Children

The "Respect Jeter's Gangster" blog joined Johnny Damon's home run club, which raises money for the Children's Health Fund. We are pledged to donate $1.00 for every homerun the Yankees hit this season. We will keep a running tally of the home runs hit and the money donated throughout the season. Posada hit his 4th homerun of the season, and his second in as many days. The children thank him.

Jorge Posada 4hr = $4.00
Hideki Matsui 2hr = $2.00
Derek Jeter 4hr = $4.00
Mark Teixeira 3hr = $3.00
Nick Swisher 7hr = $7.00
Robinson Cano 5hr = $5.00
Johnny Damon 4hr = $4.00
Melky Cabrera 4hr = $4.00
Jose Molina 1hr = $1.00
Total = $34.00

Judging by your rundown, I would've never guessed that the yankees had a come from behind win last night. So much negativity.

Is Tim Wakefield possessed or what?
He's been pitching like the 2009 Cy Young Award winner this season!

1. They should have went after Manny. His slumps NEVER last long.

2. You can always have Carl Pavano back! After two sucky starts, he's been doing OK....

3. I am LOVING LOVING LOVING all the posts and comments about how everyone can't wait for my BFF ARod to come back. Why? Do fans need someone to boo or do they FINALLY appreciate him?

I appreciate him, Tribe Girl, and can't wait till he's back in the lineup. I just hate the media circus that will accompany his return.

I doubt I will ever really appreciate Alex, but I will do my best to tolerate him if we win.

We just need something to write about. A-Rod couldn't come more quickly.
