Yanks-BoSox Preview

The Yankees now prepare to play the BoSox in Boston. Boston is a wonderful place with a Pesky Pole and where you can be called racial slurs you didn't even know apply to you. It's also the home of Sam Adams beer, or as Bostonians call it, their morning joe.

The Sox are coming off a strong series against the Angels as the Yanks head in, and they certainly will look to take advantage of the Yanks' recent injuries. Unfortunately, those injuries haven't exactly slowed the Yankees. The Yankees are coming off a series sweep of the Orioles, which isn't exactly impressive, except that the Os swept Boston. By the transitive property of the Orioles, the Yankees have already swept Boston. Hughes, CC, and AJ are up this series, which is good for us. But we all know from last winter that Boston has the greatest rotation in baseball history. Scrap that. In history. They will, however, have to face the oldest line-up in history, as we have learned from the last few days of Yankees coverage. The Yanks took the first series against the BoSox earlier this year, also in Fenway, and the BoSox will be looking to even the score. Should be a fun weekend.

"Should be a fun weekend."

While it is hard to contend with such a coherent argument, I still think it should be fun, unless the games go over 2.5 hours, which would be embarrassing, pathetic, and not fun. In fact, I hope Bud Selig cuts all games off at 6 innings as punishment for not finishing on time.

Everyone will be pleased to know that Dallas Braden is still fighting the good fight against ARod in the name of standards and decency in baseball. I'm not exaggerating.

"Braden emphasized his commitment to respecting the game, defending the integrity of the mound and knowing the unwritten rules that govern life between the lines."

I salute this man. He is truly a paragon of honor and virtue.

Also, if this guy is the A's biggest hero, as the article makes him out to be, the team should be contracted.

It's amazing to me that this guy still can't get over this. He says at the end that he doesn't have a chip on his shoulder, but he quite clearly has a chip on his shoulder.

If he wants to fight A-Rod after school on the playground, fine. But don't run your mouth in some interview like you're some tough guy. If you're so tough, fight him when you play in July. Whether or not you pitch. Or fight A-Rod when he crossed your mound in the first place instead of yelling from the dugout like a little &!@#$. It's easy to talk that nonsense from 3000 miles away to some newspaper reporter. He's going to have to put up or shut up now.

Very well put!

Braden sounds like what would happen if a garden variety ARod hater became a MLB player and got media coverage. All the standard cliches are there - he only plays for himself, he doesn't care about his team, he disrespects the game. It's like he copied and pasted a LoHud comment into his interview.

Meanwhile, Braden is suggesting that he's going to fight ARod. Not just throw at him, but fight him, even though everyone knows that he would get his clock cleaned.

About half of the current or former players who have been asked about the "Get Off My Mound" Rule say there is no such thing. Braden has some serious issues and it's laughable that anyone is making him into some kind of good example.

It doesn't help that the interviewer sort of eggs him on, but Bradon comes off as a complete douche.

"Oh, he stepped on my mound. I'm gonna fight him."

Is Dallas Braden on the As or in high school? I can't tell. He really is like a little kid.

The interviewer doesn't just egg him on. He nearly proposes marriage.

In fairness, were they to marry the interviewer would probably be set for life, so I can't really blame him.
