Posada Upstages Rodriguez

The Good

The Yanks won 1-7. Burnett pitched well (though his outing was shortened by rain). Also, it rained. Probably for the first time all summer in New York. I'm sure it felt nice.

The Bad

On a night that was supposed to be all about A-Rod's pursuit of 600, Jorge Posada selfishly hit his 1,000th RBI; stealing A-Rod's thunder. It was uncalled for. With his moment gone, A-Rod had no choice but to hit singles, and walk.

The Ugly

With the recent passing of Ralph Houk, to add to the recent passings of Bob Sheppard and George Steinbrenner, the Yankees recently released this informative press release to the public:

If you are currently old and were ever in some way associated with the Yankees organization, you're probably about to die. Just so you know.

A Night for the RBI

RBIs were not upstaged by homers last night, as no home runs were hit in last night's game.

Posada 11hr = $22
Granderson 7hr = $14
Cano 18hr = $36
Swisher 17hr = $34
Jeter 9hr = $18
Johnson 2hr = $4
Rodriguez 15hr = $30
Teixeira 18hr = $36
Thames 3hr = $6
Gardner 5hr = $10
Winn 1hr = $2
Miranda 3hr = $6
Curtis 1hr = $1
Total = $220
