Rays Lose a Close One

Hamels was pretty sharp yesterday as the Rays went on to lose 3-2. Kazmir pitched a decent game going 6 innings and allowing 3 runs, but Hamels went 7 and only gave up 2. The Philadelphia bullpen held the lead, and ultimately, only 3 Rays had hits yesterday, Iwamura, Crawford, and Zobrist. Philadelphia came hard in this game and that was what they needed to do. Everyone thought the wait would effect them so winning the first game was essential for them. The Rays need to win tonight, because otherwise they will be down 2 games heading to Philadelphia, and I don't think they want that. Philadelphia has a good team, but the question will be how the starters match up down the stretch. Should be interesting having Shields take on Brett Myers. Shields has been sharp this post season, and though Myers has gone 2-0 this post season he has an ERA of 5.25. The odd thing is that Shields went 0-2 with a 3.46 ERA in the ALCS so go figure.

Hamels was outstanding. Can we start a petition to force the Phillies to trade him to the Yankees?

If only. I wonder what it would take to get him?

1 down, 3 to go!

I love baseball, but the sooner the WS ends, the sooner the wheelin' and dealin' can begin!

Does Cole Hamels have a mullet? Or is it more of a mop-top? I'm inconclusive when it comes to typing his name in Google images.

Two questionable calls from the home-plate umpire Kerwin Danley in one WS game?
People might argue that Rocco Baldelli did check his swing on an borderline strike, but J-Ro did get a HBP.
Mistakes like these usually end up affecting the result of the game. That's not acceptable.
Considering the fact that the Phillies just beat CC, they'll ask CC+Joba+Hughes+Coke for the Magical Cole.
