Don't Blame A-Rod, Blame Cano

The Good

Jeter, Abreu, Cano, and Pudge all had two hits with the later two hitting solo homeruns. Matsui hit a 2-RBI double to put the Yankees up 6-2.

The Bad

Rasner was dealing until he came in to pitch the 7th. That inning, Rasner imploded rapidly and allowed 3 runs to score, though part of the blame must go to Cano (See the Ugly). What could have been a 6 inning 2 run performance for Rasner became a 6+ inning 5 run affair.

The Ugly

Cano botched that flip to Jeter and thus allowed an unearned run that would prove to be the difference in the game. Cano's bat has been coming around of late, but he's far from being Roberto Alomar at second despite what Girardi may say. A-Rod grounded into a double play in the 9th with two men on, and down by one run. He got the boo's, and he's certainly been bad of late, but this game is won if Cano makes that play. Cano was booed as well. Yankee fans are ticked.

Respect Jeter's Gangster is for the Children

The "Respect Jeter's Gangster" blog joined Johnny Damon's home run club, which raises money for the Children's Health Fund. We are pledged to donate $1.00 for every homerun the Yankees hit this season. We will keep a running tally of the home runs hit and the money donated throughout the season. Two homeruns yesterday by Cano and Pudge, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to win a game.

Melky Cabrera 8hr = $8.00
Alex Rodriguez 28hr = $28.00
Hideki Matsui 9 hr = $9.00
Bobby Abreu 15hr = $15.00
Jorge Posada 3hr = $3.00
Jason Giambi 27hr = $27.00
Johnny Damon 11hr = $11.00
Morgan Ensberg 1hr = $1.00
Robinson Cano 13hr = $13.00

Hey guys. I don't know about tribegirl. I'm assuming she fell apart when Sabathia was traded and the Indians were in dead last.
As for me, I did fight crime up in Toronto, beating on those Blue Jays and drinking Steamwhistle pilsner, until a Radiohead concert interrupted me, and then Damon made some horrible catches, and I got sad.

Glad to be back commenting!

Ha! Those are the only 2 options?

Sorry, that's all you can choose from. We've gotten kind of strict around these parts since you've been gone.
