The Good
Well, Pavano gave us a win. It wasn't the greatest start in the world, but his 5 innings of 3 run ball was enough for the Yankees, and as his first big league game since April, 2007 I think it was adequate. Bruney-Veras-Rivera closed out the remaining 4 innings by shutting out the Orioles. Rivera got the save. Giambi had a 2-3 game with 3 RBI's including a 2-run homer in the 3rd inning. Matsui hit his second homerun since coming back from the DL.
The Bad
Pavano hit two batters yesterday, Millar, who I don't care about, and Mora who, well, I guess I don't care about either. Go Pavano!
The Ugly
Pudge makes a better Tiger than he does a Yankee. He went 0-4 yesterday and is now batting .214 since coming to New York. Its a shame because he's one of the greatest catchers of all time, and always wanted to be a Yankee. I hope he picks it up. In other acquired players news, Nady is the man.
Respect Jeter's Gangster is for the Children
The "Respect Jeter's Gangster" blog joined Johnny Damon's home run club, which raises money for the Children's Health Fund. We are pledged to donate $1.00 for every homerun the Yankees hit this season. We will keep a running tally of the home runs hit and the money donated throughout the season. Matsui made up for lost time by hitting his second homerun since coming off the DL. Giambi hit one of his own to show that he cares for Children's Health too.
