The Good
The offense scored 6 runs including a grandslam from Sexson who went 2-4 with a double. At least Veras didn't give up any runs.
The Bad
Every pitcher not named Veras gave up runs. Pettitte was just flat out awful. So was Robertson and Bruney.
The Ugly
Honestly, Derek Jeter killed every rally we had going. In the third inning it was the two on 1 out double play he hit into and later in the game he came up with the bases loaded and lined out to second. The crazy thing about the third inning is that there was a huge gap between the first and second basemen, good for, I don't know, an opposite field hit maybe? Instead he pulls it to third base where it gets turned into a double play. Maybe Jeter didn't have a date the night before, or maybe the Texas heat just got to him, either way, he is far too gangster to play this way. Let's get it going Jeter!
Respect Jeter's Gangster is for the Children
The "Respect Jeter's Gangster" blog joined Johnny Damon's home run club, which raises money for the Children's Health Fund. We are pledged to donate $1.00 for every homerun the Yankees hit this season. We will keep a running tally of the home runs hit and the money donated throughout the season. Although last night's game was a disaster for the team, it was a good night for children's health. Richie Sexson hit his first for the cause. A grandslam no less.

The only good news is our big games against Boston and Tampa are still to come. We find ways to beat them, we sneak into the playoffs, set the bomb, and BOOOOM! World Champs!
Without Joba it feels like we're sunk at sea right now, but as long as they can stay within striking distance, at least we'll still have a chance come September.
Good thing about having faith in using younger players, suddenly the roster expansion becomes a case of having reinforcements rather than just wanting to give some youngsters a taste of life in a big league clubhouse.
Yeah, the Joba thing is a major blow especially because we already lost Chien Ming Wang. Right now our rotation stands as Moose, Pettitte, Ponson, Rasner and Giese. That's not going to win us a lot of games down the stretch.
I think D-Ras has lost his spot in the rotation.
Isn't Ian Kennedy expected to be called up from the minors?
Robertson did pitch himself out of trouble with the bases loaded. That's a good sign for young pitchers.
The Big G and the X-man need to stop swinging at high fastballs.
