Around the Majors

The Phillies finally stood up to the Nationals yesterday winning an extra innings affair 8-7. The final run scored on a heroic walk-off walk with the bases loaded by Jayson Werth.

The Kansas City Royals finished a sweep of the GREATEST OFFENSE IN ALL THE HISTORY OF OFFENSES Detroit Tigers. Zach Grienke gave up one run on a homer to Brandon Inge over 7 innings. Where the crap did this team come from? We wrote a while back that Kansas City was building in the right direction, and that they would compete in the near future, but they're really outperforming themselves. I expect they won't continue this for long, but keep watch of this team. They have some quality rookies making names for themselves, and Dayton Moore is no dummy.

Besides the Yankees winning, nothing else happened in baseball yesterday.
