Good Win for the Yanks
So Mussina, emerging ace that he is, goes 6 and gives up 1. Not bad for the youngster. Then, Bruney, Hawkins and Farnsworth somehow managed to pitch 3 innings of 1 hit ball. Later, they turned the gatorade into wine. On the down side, Jeter has a strained left quadriceps and will not play today and maybe longer. Jeter, a veritable Johnny Tight Lips, says he's fine. We'll see. But at least now we know why the Yankees needed eight utility infielders on the Roster. With Shelley out due to suspension, Giambi injured, and Jeter injured, our ample infield reserves really paid off.
