The Good
The Yankees manufactured a run the old fashion way! After Melky got on base, Damon bunted his way on, and Jeter bunted them into scoring position. Abreu's bloop single scored Melky from there and put the Yankees ahead 3-2. Speaking of Abreu, he's been off to a hot start getting a couple hits yesterday. Hughes tossed 6 innings of 2 run ball with 4 strikeouts. That'll win some games. Also, the Chamberlain-Rivera combo has worked for the second time in two tries. There is definitely some benefits to having Chamberlain in the bullpen. I just don't see Latroy or Kyle filling that role.
The Bad
Cano, A-rod....What the crap? Ewan McGregor made the Yankee lineup look silly until they finally scored their pair of runs. He was pitching with the flu!
The Ugly
Frank Thomas struck out looking on a full count by Phil Hughes. The pitch was definitely inside, but the umpire called it a strike. Frank Thomas flipped out and got tossed. I like Frank Thomas.
Respect Jeter's Gangster is for the Children
Respect Jeter's Gangster joined Johnny Damon's Homerun Club, and is giving $1.00 for every homerun the Yankees hit this season. The money goes to the Children's Health Fund. Throughout the season, we will keep a running tally of the homeruns and money donated. No homeruns today. The Yankees must really hate the children:
Melky Cabrera 1hr = $1.00
Alex Rodriguez 1hr = $1.00
Total = $2.00

They do hate kids. I tried to join the Yankees when I was six and they said I was "too young". Too young!? They critique everything!
