So, I'm not exactly the manager of the New York Yankees but when you have a save situation in the ninth (4 runs or less) and its the game after an off day, don't you bring your closer in instead of Kyle Farnsworth? Just Curious.
30 seconds later update:
I guess Girardi is a sportsman and he didn't want to show the Sox up by winning by more than three runs.

Baseball games are much more fun to watch with your heart in your throat.
4 runs in the ninth isn't a save situation, it's 3. Besides, they were winning by 5 runs when the ninth started.
i cannot stand farnsworth or mussina.. i would rather have my teeth pulled without novacain then watch them pitch
yeah, I just realized the Yanks were up by five at the time, I guess seeing Farnsworth just made me panic
I wish I could be paid 5 million a year to always give up a home run and a walk every time I pitch.
Farnsworth makes me nervous everytime I see him go in. I always think Girardi knows something I don't, but then BAM....something happens and my nervousness is validated! And Mussina is scheduled to pitch tonight - he's another one. He irks me everytime he's interviewed because he talks like he's still a good pitcher. Give me a break!!! Again, is there something that I don't know??? Dude makes me nervous when he's on the mound!
Mussina will win around 12 games, but he needs to be coaching this time next year.
